Shelf Road Gallery on Climbing.com
The last month saw some crazy good weather in Southern Colorado. The conditions at Shelf Road were mostly perfect save for a few days. Even so, climbing was still to be had on the worst of them.
I spent 6 days in total over 3 weeks and got in a lot of pitches and actuation’s. One of the trips was a Climbing Magazine staff trip to perform some gear testing and get some much needed R&R in between production cycles.
I was able to put together a small gallery of my best images from these trips and have it shared by Climbing.com.
Climbers include:
Gary Sorcher, Hale Melnick, Kent Coghill, Julie Ellison, Amanda Fox, Dougald McDonald and Andrew Tower.
Here is the link to the gallery.

Below are a few of my favs from the set. I still have a lot more lifestyle images to sort thru. Lots of good stuff. Psyched to soon have the time to share up!
Gary Sorcher sending the relentlessly pumpy Muscle Beach (5.11a) on his first go.
Andrew Tower cruises Dereliction Affliction (5.11b) on a warm afternoon during the staff trip.
Julie Ellison nears the crux during her second go redpoint of Gen X (5.11a)
Hale Melnick getting established low on Hurricane (5.12a/b)
Hale Melnick fighting the pump and nearing the anchors on Hurricane (5.12a/b)
Cold evenings at Shelf are best near the fire with PBR.
Stay warm and enjoy the weather. It’s starting to look very much like winter here on the Front Range. Snow is on the ground and more is on the way. I will be heading back to the Bay Area soon for the holidays and a few weeks of route setting for Valley Rock Gym. Then back to the Rado!

May I simply just say what a relief to discover someone that truly knows what they’re discussing on the web. You certainly understand how to bring an issue to light and make it important. A lot more people must read this and understand this side of the story. I can’t believe you aren’t more popular given that you surely possess the gift.
